This seems to me a little inhuman, if someone is suffering from depression brought on by a debt problems and are still trying to address it, what good would it do to take the high road and instill yet more stress, by taking this action? They should be ashamed, surely a manager, somewhere could have just sat down and listened.

I am very sorry youre in this position and hope that you find a way through it all.

Take care

I want to say thanks for everyones kind words. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you earlier but the dismissed me for gross misconduct. They say I didn't declare that I had debt and when I said I didn't realise I had to they told me all the information was on the intranet and I shlould have known to look. They also said that I should have used my common sense and known to tell them my situation.
As I said previously I think it was really because of my sickness record. I was off with depression and stress. Things only started to get better when I spoke to Melanie about an IVA. I had the backing of my doctor and the works doctor with my sickness.

Not sure to be honest. Its really knocked me back. I finally managed to leave the house for the first time today. It was only down the local shop but it's a start. I'm worried now that I won't be able to have the IVA as it was just getting to the proposal stage.

That really stinks Sue.

I'm no legal expert but I know that UK Law would override any company law. Surely there is something in UK law to protect those in a IVA from this.

If that is the case I would think you will have a case for unfair dismissal. Do you have a Union you could go to?
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.
