I am not aware of any requirement by HMRC to be advised of an employees IVA - but I am having lunch with the head of the team who deal with all voluntary arrangements next week and will make enquiries.

As for IP's not meeting self-employed clients on a face to face basis, this is in contravention of of current regulations - but let the IP worry about his/her license if this cannot be evidenced.

O MY GOD

i work for jobcentreplus although currently on a caring and responsibility break as i havent returned to work after having my daughter due to postnatel depression, i choose to take unpaid leave as i didnt want to risk losing my job, do you think when i do return to work they will do a finacial check again, im not in an IVA because ive still got my head in the shed and dont know which way to turn yet, but whichever route i take my credit file will be rubbish, i dont work in finance i will either go back as a teamleader or an advisor (in that role i do authorise payments to clients for clothes for interviews or travelling expenses etc)
Panicking a bit now

on the up side i havent used any creditcards for 3 weeks and it feels GOOOOOD

The more I think about this, the more I cannot see on earth how HMRC can insist that IPs send them copies of IVA proposals if they are employed by them but there are no debts. If correct, this would appeat to be an infringement of humand rights, and as an IP I would certainly not be happy to take part in that. I think that someone at the IP firm has got their wires crossed her, but I will check.

I'm convinced of it Barb - but you can see how dangerous posts like this can be as there will now be a number of the forum members worrying over the weekend - probably unecessarily.

Im really really sorry if I have caused everyone so much worry. I was just looking for an answer as I was feeling so desperate. I had been in hysterics to the lady at the IVA company begging her not to send the info to my work incase I got into trouble.

HI Kazzy, sorry for the delay, mine took about 9(very long)weeks, but in the end it was well worth the wait, have you got a date for your creditors meeting yet?
