This may seem a completely useless post to many people but I just wanted to take an opportunity to wish everyone a wonderful 2007 and also to thank you all for all the support that I've received from this forum since I found you in August.

I've posted many questions (and a great deal of panic!) on this forum and I've always been answered with a great deal of honesty, kindness and positivity that I never imagined I would receive.

Like all of you, it's been a very strange Christmas - We've got a 3yr old and a 5yr old and a baby due in 3 months but I'm thrilled to say that our kids were none the wiser that mammy and daddy are in this financial position and they were thrilled with what they got, even though it cost substantially less than we would usually spend.

But it's a new year, new start and a new baby on the way - We're so lucky in so many ways... AND WE'VE JUST MADE OUR 5TH PAYMENT FOR OUR IVA SO IN FEBRUARY WE'LL BE 10% THROUGH IT ALL!!!!!!

I'm so sorry for ranting and raving but I just had to get it all off my chest.

Thanks so much to all of you,
Erica. x

Well done,you sound really positive.
Give yourselves a real treat for when you finish the IVA,say a good holiday, after all you will have deserved it AND you will be able to afford it !!!

Thank you very much for your post. It is so nice to see people with wonderful attitudes. A new baby is like the beginning of all things-wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities. I wish you all the best.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Thankyou both so much for your replies - I really didn't expect any!! It's amazing how far I personally have come since first applying for our IVA last May and I really am so greatful that I've been given the opportunity to 'move on'. This time last year, my husband and I hadn't yet admitted to each other how much debt we were really in but thank God that we did because I daren't think what position we'd be in now if we hadn't taken that step.
Yes, neverending, when this IVA is finished (55 MONTHS TO GO!!!!!!) we'll be going on a lovely holiday and it won't be on credit so it'll be even more special.
And yes, Julia this new baby really has brought us down to earth with a bang but he or she won't deserve being brought into the world with a mammy and daddy who are so stressed over money that we don't enjoy the early days. I'm intending on giving my children all the love and cuddles in the world - I'm sure they won't really mind where the nappies are from or how much mammy spends on shopping!
Like I said earlier, New Year, New Start. With no credit. And I cannot wait....!
Thanks again and sorry (again!) for ranting!
Erica. xx
