Hey, just though I would tell you that Egg have called me 15 times today ranging from 9:15am - 21:49 tonight. This has to be harassment in the lowest form. I have to have my mobile on for work purposes so this was the most annoying day so far!!! aaarrrggghhhh I hate this and dread tomorrow. God can't they just get the point when no one answers them :( :(
When will this all end?

I never used to get calls from anyone after 9pm. I am sure they are not supposed to call that late at night.

Unfortunately, they won't stop ringing you. Sometimes they try to lull you into a false sense of security by leaving it for a couple of days - then they start again.

They have to try and get money from you somehow. Perhaps it's some sort of therapy for them listening to a phone ring!

Sorry loubylou, that's awful. I must have pretty decent creditors as they phone once, I tell them I'm applying for an IVA and they say they won't phone for another ten days, and they don't. Maybe I'm just lucky (apart from the debt collector nightmare!)

Can you maybe put your phone on vibrate only so that the ring doesn't give it away, then you can just cut them off. X

Thats so bad... I can feel your pain... Ive just had to change my number as Capital One keep calling me and i thought 5 times a day was bad!! Im on my week off from work and they hassle me... I ask for it to be removed and they want to take me thru security and im like errr.. hello you called me im not confirming anything... a friend of mine says its breach of data protection if a company doesnt remove your number from their dialling system so i used that they hang up then they call again!! I really dont know how they got my number as i never called them from it!! and im ex-directory!!
Life is one big challenge so what are you going to give me today!?

I have posted this elsewhere previously, but I don't mind doing it again.

15 times is certainly excessive, and whilst I cannot condone not keeping the lines of communication open with your creditors and ignoring them totally, I have a number of clients who have told me that answering the phone and asking them to hold whilst you go and take a pot off the stove, or answer the front door etc, keeping them there for 20 minutes or so works wonders, as they never seem to be on the phone when you go back to it.

Apparently it is a very successful tactic.

Regards.

Loubylou, don't worry, It's rare apparently. The Mercers debt collector who came to me was actually really nice and as soon as I explained my IVA situation she went. I know it's worrying but I bet you don't get anyone coming out to you. The calls are rubbish though eh?![:(] X
