bank charges. I was told by my IP not to pay any creditors so i didn't leave money in my bank but they have taken it anyway and thus made me overdrawn and charged me for the privilege. can they do this i understand the charge for not paying but shouldn't they just have classed it as a missed payment. I will ring my IP on monday but i will just worry about it all weekend.

First thing I was told to do when I went down the IVA route was to open a new basic bank account.

Moved all my wages, rent payements etc to that, so whut ever happen to old account wasnt much of an issue, just became another debt. Bank soon stopped payments. If it didnt, then my debt with them just went up instead.

It also ran up quite a few charges (the old £30's for unpaid direct debits etc ) which will be claimed back at some point.

Cheeky sods.....yup thats them

I have changed bank account and moved wages and direct debits this is just them so as you say leave them to it. Like you say all the £30's they are not getting them or the payment i tried not to give them. I'm pleased to see this is just the norm in this situation. This forum is brill don't you think.

Hi Lesley

In the great big scheme of things, you do not need to worry about this payment which has made your account overdrawn. Just ensure that your IP includes the overdrawn bank account as an additional creditor within your IVA statement of affairs.

I have been sending him all my statements and charges as I have received them. My proposal is meant to be ariving with me early this week so I will send him all the details when I return that. If my iva is rejected the first time I am seriously considering B/R I have had another tooth break today and I can't do anything but put up with it.

Lesley

Make sure that you have made a provision for medical expenses within your proposal. £20 per month is not unreasonable to cover medical, dental and optical costs.
