Hi Elizabeth and welcome to the forum

There are probably a few lenders who would allow you HP whilst you are in an IVA, but have you thought how you will afford this and whether you will be able to maintain your IVA contributions? If not, do discuss this with your IP.

This has occasionally happened to clients of mine, and sometimes they have been helped out by members of the family who have taken out a finance agreement in their own names, and my client has covered the payments. So long as this does not disturb your IVA payments this should present little problem to your IP - but you must seek their written permission before proceeding.

In the event that the purchase of a new car is crucial to your IVA continuing ie you would not be able to get to work without one, then your IP may need to approach creditors to see if they will agree to a variation of terms - if the car finance payments were to eat into the IVA contributions.
