Hello everyone, Just wanted to know if anyone had a holiday booked for this year. We are going to Turkey in June for a week, and I am so looking forward to it. We have saved up really hard to take the kids away. I have been putting extra hours in at work, and my husband has been working weekends. Its all worth it though, when we get on that plane... [:D][:D]

I hope you have a lovely time Debbie. We're going to Lyme Regis in Dorset in July for their Lifeboat and Carnival weeks. I've also been saving a little bit each month and I've book a week in Looe in Cornwall for Dave and I in October to say thank you to him for putting up with me and helping me over the last year.

I decided to tell him - I was going to wait and tell him the month before, and I know it's a long way off but he's self employed and I didn't want him booking work!

I think this is definately going to be the worst bit about being in an IVA.I cannot afford 'an airoplane' holiday. We've booked a few nights away in Scotland and already had a couple of weekends away, but I really wish I could save enough for the annual holiday.I'm building up a 'savings' account, but it would have to be alot fuller than it is now before we could go.We rarely get overtimes.Have a lovely time in Turkey x

Hi

We are also going to Turkey in July for a week. We have managed to do this by asking for holiday money not presents for christmas and birthdays. I have also asked that my parents to
save the money until it is time to pay for the holiday.

It is amazing how this money accumalates especially when you cannot dip into it.

We are going with my parents to Turkey, but they booked with First Choice Travel agents because they like the face to face thing and do not know how to use the net. I booked online via Travel Republic and saved £150. All in all we have only had to add about £150 to the cost of the holiday which I have managed to save from my overtime.

I cannot wait to go!!!!
This will be the first holiday I have been on that is not paid for by credit!

Sharon

We're off to Turkey too!!! We going 1st Sept for 2 weeks, it was going to be £500 dearer to go the week before cos of the school hols!!!! We managed to get a free child place so saved a fair bit that way.
Where about's in Turkey? We going to Olu Deniz, it's very chilled and relaxed and you don't get any hassle of the market sellers. Can't wait, I've started shopping on Ebay for them already.....lol

I am fascinated that any of you can afford this! Sorry that sounds mean it's juat there is really no spare money for saving or contingencies in my IVA I & E balance sheet.
When I needed to make a claim on my house insurance after flooding last year I had to ask my IP for the first £100 that I hsd to pay myself as a reduction in my monthly payment for 1 month. The flooded areas really need more decorating etc than the insurance money allowed - but it's going to have to wait for another 2 years and 8 months!

I am going because my IVA is just mine, my husband has no debts at all, so his money is his money. He has paid for the family to go.
