Hi to everyone,

I am due my appointment for br on monday coming, but I have had my creditor(vanquis) ringing of which I know it because I`ve missed my first payment, my wife answered as I was out the time and there ringing later tonight. Would it be a good idea to tell them I`m planning to go Br as from monday. I`m not sure what to say or keep it quiet and hopefully if all goes ok let the OR contact them.

Ideally I would like to be Br first and then feel more comfortable telling my harrassing creditors I am Br.

Anyone been in similar circumstances or any advice. :-)

Thanks

Neil

Hi neil

I personally told all my creditors that called me on the run up to my br what my intentions were, and on the day of BR I rang them all up and gave them the reference, its up to you whether you do or not but you may find they stop the calls sooner rather than wait until the OR has been in touch with them which can take some time.
Just be firm with them and dont get drawn into their conversations, and if they ask you any questions, you are not obliged to answer them, just give them the details of your BR.

Good luck tomorrow let us know how you get on

Pippa

As Pippa says it is up to you and as she also says dont get drawn into long conversations, they will try to get a payment,be polite but firm .
All the best for Monday.

Hi Neil, I told my creditors that I was petitioning for BR - some still tried to get me to cough up but I just didn't get into a dicussion about it and if they persisted I just hung up! One creditor however kept ringing me at home and work, sometimes up to 5/6 times a day so in the end I just stopped answering the phone!! After my BR I still had creditors ringing but once I told them I was BR they were nice and polite and one even apologised for bothering me! Good luck for tomorrow!!
