sorry that this a bit late but have only registered here today.
only found this forum after starting the IVA process 3 months ago(did not have courage to register sooner )
my wife and i had debts of £64000,both working full time and doing all the hours possible to pay.Wifey had to change job at end of 2006(less hours)My overtime hours dropped off at the same time,other factors came into play also which meant we were struggling to pay debt.
what did we do,we went on internet straight to the first debt help agency we could find.filled in the forms etc and were told to stop paying creditors. discovered IVA FORUM and started reading some posts,
oh no,we had gone with a certain IVA factory (panic station extreme)
but hold on,said company wasnt as bad as stated ( kept in touch etc )
we decided to stick with them and soon after we were allocated an IP.
on no not again,IP company had connections with another company not very well liked on this forum.yet again we were lucky as he did his job extremely well and came up with a very good proposal for us both and creditors.89% were a yes vote with a slight modification requested by our major creditor which we accepted.
first payment is next month so its,0 down and 60 to go
