Congratulations for taking the first official step Duracell.

I had mine approved Monday so totally understand how good it feels.

As for relationships, my husband and I have definitly come closer together since dealing with our finances, rather than just letting one person deal with it all, and as a result, we tend to plan how we spend our money as a couple which is great for us !

I wish you all the best.

Bradders - Like you, I had 'The Drawer'. That convenient place where I could 'file' things until I got around to sorting them out. (which until now of course, I never did)

I guess the shredder will be doing a bit of overtime shortly and the postman will probably be able to walk straight again :)

I guess if most people in debt go the IVA route Foggy, the post office will be making some redundancies!!

I REALLY liked this post.

Reading it reminded me of all the feelings that I had before I decided to make that call too.

The stress, the constant calls, the worry that "What will i do if this IVA is rejected", all so familiar.

Everyone else is right about the forum too. I think I was about 12 months into my IVA before IO found this site and the support and help and laughs definitely helped me get to the end.

It's a brilliant post for all those that are considering and IVA/waiting for the proposal to be accepted, but that's what's brilliant about this site. Someone on here has always had the same/similar experience or worry and can support the rest.

From the very early pre-IVA to the IVA completion, there's always someone who can support.

I'll shut up because i'm rambling but you get the point. I'm also gonna try and be on here a bit more cos i've been rubbish recently.. Shame on me :)

How's it going animaleyes?
Hi Jan, without hijacking the thread i have to say that being debt free is simply amazing. I can afford the things i want to do (with no credit :) ) and have also found a new found love of... dare i say it.. SAVING money.

It's nearly as good as spending it was at the beginning!!

Life is all good (apart from Equifax's recent notes to my notice of correction part of my credit file) but i read a few other posts so will be in contact with them shortly, no big rush, the 6 years isn't up until August anyway. :))

How's it all going for you? :)
