My meeting was scheduled for 2.15pm today. Got a phone call at 2.10pm. The IVA was approved.
I was lucky, in terms of modifications. There was no increase of money from my side, was to do with IP terms and fees ( Clearstart )
What I can gather and remember, CoOp wanted modifcations, but their information wasnt complete and their vote got rejected, The Alliance and Leicester wanted modifications with the IP and fees, John Lewis ( HSBC ) again wanted change to the fees, Lloyds didnt bother voting along with Barclaycard. Lloyds was my biggest debt.
But they accepted my proposal but apart from the IP fees and modifications.
So relieved and the phone call was so quick and prompt.
Thank you ClearStart and to all those on here with your support.
Today is a new day. In 3 weeks I will be moving home, so no crappy letters to worry about and the phone !!
I will keep in touch on here as the information and support is so valuable.
Love to you all

Hi
That is great news.
I always find it strange when majority[?] creditors do not vote

Well done you.

Today is definitely a new day and the start of a new chapter.

I do find it strange that after months of hassling you no-body bothers to vote. first Direct were the only creditors to vote on ours (we also had Barclaycard & A&L)

Same with us and Goldfish who didn't vote

They are still calling us every day, 9 days after the IVA was approved

Thanks :) I had two beers tonight to celebrate.
Im not worried about any phone calls or letters as I wont be living here for long. But its the same cranky olde woman from Barclaycard I get a message everyday... " Please could you call Barclaycard.. " The fact there is no name to who she is refering too, there are three of us in this house who have Barclaycards ! She sounds like Julie Walters in the ' Two Soups ' Victoria Wood sketch :) HE HE !

Hope you enjoyed your beers tonight...

I have today had a letter from Morgan Stanley (goldfish) saying that they have been notified of my insolvency and have amended records of my account with the credit ref agencies and this record will remain until such time they recieve notification of the satisfactory completion of my insolvency.
Guess this means this will be a welcome relief from the constant calling......hope you recieve such a letter soon..

Yes its a new start, so much has changed from making that phone call on the 29th of September to ClearStart to the IVA being approved on the 15th November. Having to change bank accounts or indeed get one, with the postal strike delaying it all along with my paperwork to clearstart for two weeks that was tough. Then finding a new place to live.
But admitting that I have a problem, willing to sort it out, pay back as much as I can not using an IVA as an easy way out as its still a long road ahead, but each month is closer to the end. Hell, I had pay those loans for five years !!
But I was amazed to find answer, upon answer on this forum. Finding that others had the same thoughts, questions as I did everyday. Posters gave positive advice, from their experience, or from an IP point of view. It was friendly and uplifting.
So to people who are hesitant about undertaking an IVA, read throught the top posts and you will see there are many in the same boat as you, are trying to sort out their issues, and there are people who listen. Just be honest with yourself and to all, dont hide things. Bring it out in the open.
Best of luck to everyone who have started on the road to being debt free.
