Thanks everyone - I wasn't aware this was so rare so will certainly make sure I update you all via the forum.

Everything has been sent off and we have asked them to phone to confirm receipt of the letter and then to formally reply to us by 31st August with a decision.

Phone calls have been very polite although was sceptical at first when one creditor would ring me and then ask me to confirm my personal details - didn't trust them for atleast 3 or 4 phone call suntil I gave in in the end... could have been anyone though in my eyes and they didn't like me questioning their validity!

Also one creditor is annoying as they phoned me Wednesday afternoon, then Wednesday night at 8pm then again Thursday morning at 9.30am and I literally repeated the same conversation to them?! What's that all about!? They don't read the client history on their screens before making the call obviously....

I'm feeling positive and can't wait for the weekend now!

I dont know if its that rare, there is another forum that I have read where many people are doing it, Many peoples circumstances mean that they do not meet IP criteria, mine included. Its not easy though. I have found its a waste of time on the phone as the bods there just dont know anything.

I have felt like giving up and going BR many times.

I didn't realise there was an IP criteria? I guess I've got all this to come... how come you're not able to speak to the right person, when you ask what tdo they say to you?

Hi Simon

The problem with creditors phoning you is that you are on an automated system. The operator doesn't know who you are til you answer then your details appear on their screen. Thats why there is sometimes a delay before anyone speaks. You could try asking them to put a hold on the account for 2 weeks whilst you await replies to your settlement offer. No guarantees that they will but they definitely won't unless you ask.
