Timescale to get certificate after F&F

Could anyone comment on how long it takes to receive your certificate after a F&F settlement. Funds cleared into the IP on 30th October and we still haven't received it. Our IP says they're still dealing with things, but it seems a long time. Many thanks.

There is no set timescale, but I try to close my cases within 4 days of the creditors meeting, as this saves having to do two lots of reports and keeps my clients and the creditors happy.

My own took three months !!
Phone them on a regular basis and basically get on their nerves,they will get so fed up with you that they will conclude your IVA.
I think that there should be a time limit,if I was a creditor I would want one !!

Hi, I know how you feel.[:p] I have only just this week had my full and final settlement offer accepted and my practitioner is now going to distribute the funds. He has informed me that I should receive my certificate of completion within the next two weeks. However, I have read somewhere that it can be up to 3 months for this process to be completed. The good news is the court has already been informed that my settlement offer has been accepted and is being dealt with accordingly. I am so happy to know that it's finally over after the longest 20 months of my life. Prior to my IVA my credit history was perfect and I never missed any payments to my creditors. However, owing to the pressures of being a single parent I finally had to admist defeat so that I would have move funds available to raise my son and entered into an IVA in March 2006. It broke my heart. Just wanted to encourage everyone that if I can do it you can and if in the meantime you need someone to chat to for support I would be glad to help make you smile through all the hard times. I understand this is the hardest decision you will probably ever make, and you should be proud of yourself. In entering into an IVA you are taking responsibility for your debts and I think it takes allot of courage to do that. Don't give up. Stay strong.
