Hi all

I was just wondering if anyone can explain how long it takes (approx/on average) to go from initial offer to a variation meeting being called?

I initially contacted IP with details of f&f offer on 07/08 and since then they've gradually asked for other things like latest payslips, new i&e completed and other bits and bobs. I have chased them a few times to see where we're at but just get told 'we're still reviewing your offer', is it likely that anytime soon a variation meeting will be called or is it still the early days at the mo?

I hate having to hound them all the time, but they're also not managing my expectations in terms of giving me more detail like 'we should have something to tell you in 2 weeks' its just kind of drifting along.

What has everyone else's situation been like?

Many thanks

I think it does take a time to sort out a variation meeting but I would keep pushing them for a date.

It should not take that long once they have all of the information. We generally do ours within a week, as we know that once a client has made their mind up that they want to make an offer, then it is in everyone's interests to put that in front of creditors as soon as possible.

Hi Melanie

I'm actually with your company, Laura's reviewing the offer for me and Jamie.

I had no idea what the 'usual' amount of time was for these things so came here, thanks for your reply. Hope you're well.

Hi all

Just wanted to keep you in the loop that we're still waiting to hear something, we've not even got to the point of a variation meeting being called as they're still reviewing the offer (so i'm being told) as to whether its likely to be accepted.

We're both beginning to lose hope on this and think we'll never get anywhere. I keep chasing but mostly get the same answers back, I really thought the process would be quicker than this and a lot less stressful. The uncertainty of it is horrible.

A lot has happened during the time my Mum offered to help, she's been diagnosed with breast cancer, had surgery and now in recovery from this waiting for radiotherapy to start - yet our offer is still sat going no-where! for once i'm in admiration of the NHS and how Mum has been looked after. Thankfully she's on the mend and has coped with it all remarkably, i've never felt more proud of her.

Fortunatley this has not affected her to the point where her offer to help needs to be withdrawn so we're very lucky, but my Mum is getting frustrated as she wants to be able to help and see the end of our IVA but it doesn't seem to be coming any time soon!

Has anyone else had this happen when they've offered a F&F?

kitkat, my best wishes to your Mum and I wish her a very speedy recover. I've no experience of a F&F offer but do wish you all the best. Relay to your IP that your Mum doesn't need added stress during her recovery and that you would like this looked at sooner rather than later. x
