Thanks for the help everyone.
Another reason why i may not be able to re-mortgage is my mortgage provider. GE Money.
They say that early redemption of the mortgage will result in penalty clauses. This coupled together with any IVA settlement may take me into a position whereby they feel that i would not be able to handle the increase in mortgage. I have tried re-mortgaging twice already. My income status has improved over the last 18 months and of course we have been affording the IVA thus far. Or is the fact that i cannot re-mortgage due to the current lender or the fact that my mortgage is an interest only type at present. If i can afford a £300 p.m IVA at present, then surely i can afford a lesser amount by re-mortgaging. ??.

P.S excellent forum & great help from all

Kevin

Hi Kevin and thanks for the kind words about the forum.

When do your redemption penalties on the current mortgage expire? And what is the value of your property compared to the outstanding mortgage (including redemption penalties)? How long have you been in your IVA?
