Hi All

Just felt the need to have a winge. Needed new tyres for my upcoming MOT so managed to source some cheap from Tyre-shopper.co.uk. Saved £91.00 by purchasing on line and this included the fitting and balancing at any National Tyres outlet.

There's the good news....the bad news is that their archaic computer system took my switch payment but said that it hadn't! Their second and third attempts to take the money from my account were declined - because I had sufficient funds because they'd already take £189.00 out! Embarressed I went to the nearest cashpoint and withdrew some cash. With the cash I already had in my purse, I had just enough to pay them the £189.00 for the tyres (a second time!!!)

When I got back to my office I checked with my Bank who confirmed that switch transaction had been authorised.

Now it's going to take over a week to reimburse my card....grrrr! If it wasn't for my generous boyfriend, I'd have no maney at all!

Sorry for the winge guys, feel a bit better for letting off steam! [:D]

Crikey, I don't blame you for being a tad miffed! What a nightmare. I suggest you have some chocolate, keep posting on here and I'm sure you'll feel better soon. X

Thanks Viki. Thought I'd been clever saving money shopping on line but when it came to paying at National Tyres all went wrong anyway! This sort of thing seems to happen so much more since I started my IVA and every penny is accounted for.

Have a great weekend all. Hopefully the weather will stay fine! xx

What a pain for you Chris, like you said, just as well you have the generous boyfriend[:)]

I was in a similar situation a few Months back, withdrew £100 from a Cashpoint at Lloyds Bank and no money came out. Went into panic mode, afraid to leave the machine,( in case money came out later) I rang the Bank and they confirmed that money was showing as withdrawn. Had to wait nearly a week, checking daily before it showed up that no money was taken out (gave me a scare at the time though, more wary now)[:D]

My car is due for MOT in October, no doubt will need at least one new tyre so Thanks for the info.
IVA accepted 13/11/2008..17 payments down,55 to go..

Black circles is also a good site for tyres, not advertising it, just a point to note, you have to phone your order through if you have an electron card, online ordering doesnt work. Great service though.
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

What a pain Chris. It always amazes me how quickly money is debited, and how slowly it's credited back.

Awww Chris, what a pain. My son booked a Hotel for us to stay in but I wouldnt stay as it was a flea pit. They tried to take the money even though we cancelled according to the terms and conditions set out. We are still waiting for the money....

I was wondering where you were skip as I had emailed you. Then someone said you were away, then I remembered you had told me.

I think I need a lie down, with the day I have had.... I am telling you, I am brewing.

Aw thanks Guys....you've cheered me up! You know Tireoflife you are so right......I wouldn't have batted an eyelid in my plastic pre IVA days. It's good that if nothing else, we've all learnt the value of real money! Have a great weekend everyone.
