Thanks Melanie,
I wrote to the ombudsman over a week ago but haven't heard anything back yet - I will contact them directly on Monday.
I appreciate your help, advice and opinion, and I have tried to portray my circumstances as fairly and honestly as possible. If I was a whinger and a moaner I would probably have had a go about these charges a lot earlier, but it is this forum and particularly your advice which has pointed me in the right direction - I thought that if i was getting ripped off like this then everyone else must be as well - it has come as quite a shock to realise that they are not.
My IP has repeatedly pointed to the fact that they had to spend time dealing with HMRC, but I cannot find in their time/costs anything major regarding this at all - £700/£800 at most and I have tried to look at the IVA from their perspective and have on many occasions on my posts ignored the first two years of the IVA with regards costs to try and get a balanced picture of the costs of running the IVA for the last 4 years when there should be nothing unusual except writing a few letters to me If I have been late with a payment etc. - but £4k in 2006 for 2 creditors and the 5th year of the IVA, come on give me a break!
The fact that the IP quoted 50hrs for 3 year IVA and has now done 871 and counting says it all really doesn't it
PS, They are still threatening to bankrupt me because I am behind with payments now, and I have had some further issues.
My wife (as mentioned on my previous posts) has been looking after our 21 month old son and we had decided she would now go back to work to bring in some more money. Just as we decided this 2 weeks ago we have now found out that she is pregnant with our second child (due January) so while it is fantastic from a family point of view, it puts an end to her going back to work for a while.
Oh well, onwards and upwards - I am very much from the 'my glass is half full' brigade not the 'half empty' brigade - otherwise I would have gone mad.
I had bettter go see my wife now !
Chris.
