I'll second Pap and swardean, although I couldn't wait to sign mine and get them back so I could get a date in the diary (which was today incase you haven't seen my approved post)
I will admit that I was really worried about mine as MBNA had told me all sorts on the phone that they didn't do IVA's and that the always opted for DMP etc etc, if it wasn't for everyone one here I would have probably gone DMP which would have worked out so bad for me.
I could have easily gone for bankruptcy as I have negative equity and no assets so to speak, but I want to give back what I can, I mean I borrowed it in the first place.
I would start campaigning for better creditor regulations and ensure better education from school on credit, I think it was elv5 who asked Andy if he could display his book in the local uni, but I think it needs to be a stronger message as we wouldn't want them to think they can get into loads of debt and just opt for an IVA in their twenties... (sorry ramble mode)

I'm interested to read fingerscrossed's post which suggests that they sent the documentation the IP needed to verify the figures back with the signed proposal? If this is the case, how on earth did the IP know they were using correct info at the time the propsals were finalised? Seems very odd!
I was able to give all the figures they asked for over the telephone from the information that i was sending. A couple of other additional bits of info were faxed through and a few days later my proposal came thru that i was able to sign and send back promptly. Although my finacially situation is a mess my admin side is good and I suppose had I of not been able to give a penny by penny account of what i owe what i spend and what i earn the proposal would of been wrong and a waste of his weekend. I made the intial phone call on the Thursday, once I had made my mind up that an IVA was for me I was given an "appointment" told what info i needed to hand for the Sat where everything was discussed at great length and to the penny, any worries i had I recieved the proposal on Tuesday sent it back with all the discussed docs and on Fri recieved a phone call telling me the creditors meeting was set for 9th June.
It was said in earlier posts that the company only seem to take on straight forward cases not the ones that you like to get your teeth into Melanie and as far as my situation goes its straight forward.
Back to square one but what dunt kill you makes you stronger!!
Hi fingerscrossed, I had a similar situation as you, that I contacted a company who went through an income and expenditure list, sent out the written proposals for my husband and myself to sign, asked for wage slips, statements, etc as verification. The only thing they wanted was a £450 fee upfront before submitting the proposal forms. After reading this forum I realised that there were companies who did not take an upfront fee, so have now halted the process with this other company. But had I gone through with it, it was very simple, they took my word on our income and expenditure without verification and sent out the proposal forms. I take it, that this isn't the norm then?
To be fair, at any initial call stage it is not really practical to expect to get absolutely everything right down to the exact penny. As such, what should then happen is that you should be sent the details of what has been discussed over the phone in writing. In the comfort of your own home you can then give a far more accurate picture to your provider as to your actual situation, so panicking about not getting the figures exactly straight away is something that can be avoided.
When your provider receives everything back from you then they can re-assess with you. After that you can go forward from there, or not as the case may be. The only issue then is whether you pay this upfront fee or not, and of course that is a decision for the individual.
Regards.

I am with money, debt and credit.no up front fee and a very very helpful team. the information given over the phone/fax was the same information that was on everything they requested. I have read everything cover to cover was sent a copy for my info also and also a full copy of everything that was sent to the creditors. Very Happy and fingers crossed will be even happier this time next week.

Good Luck to both of you for your creditors meetings coming up. You both feel like i did whilst waiting for your meeting. It does seem strange, but as soon as you make the first steps, the pressures do seem to come of a bit. I think it is because at last, you are finally doing something about your debt.
Good luck for your meetings and try not to worry to much about them. Your IP will not put forward a proposal if they do not think it will get accepted.
Best of Luck and let us know what happens.
Not long to wait now until the 19th either wickerwish, good luck.
