When I was in the force, it wasn't an offence to be a kerb crawler. If we could speak to any of them they used to be warned and threatened that if we saw them again we would be in touch with their wives!

That was in the 70's though, when you could get away with doing stuff like that!

Just like kalis says, when you get sworn in just say, "I hope the b**tard gets strung up by the b**ls", and they let you go.

That guy never dropped litter around here again i can tell you.

Shall we be seeing you at FF this year? I know you couldn't make it last year, but it would be good to meet you.

[:D][:D][:D] OT!

I'd be no good doing jury service - I used to work in the court service and I can still remember a lot of the names. If I saw any of them I'd already have decided that they were guilty!

You and me both Skippy! I've dealt with too many people who have pleaded 'Not Guilty' at court when I know full well they have committed the offence.

I couldn't try anyone fairly I'm afraid.

Someone I can remember from the juvenile court was in the local paper a couple of weeks ago - he's obviously graduated as he was sent down from the adult court! About time too to be honest!

I've spent too long dealing with people I class as the scum of the earth (and even below that sometimes!), and I am sorry if I offend anyone with that phrase.

I know with the particular job I do now, that the ones who plead 'Not Guilty' are as guilty as sin.

Hmm, it seems like the people working in the system, sorry I don't know what your jobs are, don't care too much for the justice sysetem.

Regardless, I will do my best.

The system sucks!

I am too cynical now, I've worked for almost 40 years for the police in one form or another. I won't say what I do now as it would give me away somewhat, and until I retire I have no intentions of my work colleagues finding out about my IVA.

I used to work in admin at the local magistrates' court.

My personal opinion was and still is that if the little yobs were given proper sentences in the juvey courts then they might not be so keen to appear in the adult court.

Going back to the one who was in the paper, I even came across his family when I worked for cable as we had to disconnect their phone and TV for non payment!

It really is the great unwashed versus chav city in a court.

Tell me about the 'clients' Jan! I can remember someone coming to the counter and asking me why he'd been disqualified from driving. I explained that he'd been disqualified for totting (12 or more points on his licence) and he said it couldn't be that, he'd sold the horse and cart and didn't go totting any more!

I was only 20 and this was a bit of an eye opener for me!

That's an understatement!

Another guy had been banned from driving and asked me in all seriousness if he could still ride a motorbike as it wasn't a car!

I do miss the court, but I don't think I can go back now I've been bankrupt.
