My poor mum!

Sorry, I've got to share this! My mum has got a lovely natured dog called Blaze who is a Rotty crossed with a Labrador (we think). She is far too big for my 76 year old 5'2" mum, but they adore each other. Blaze is spoilt - mum gets her a new toy to wreck each week. Well on Monday she decided to repay my mum's kindness - mum was sitting in the garden when Blaze came trotting over and dropped something at her feet. My mum looked down to see which of her toys it was when she realised that it had ears, teeth and open eyes - it was a real rabbit's head that she had dug up! I was at work and got a hysterical phone call so as Dave was working nearby he went round there as mum was worried about where the rest of the rabbit was - he had a look around but couldn't find anything, but my poor mum is still worried everytime that Blaze goes in the garden that the rest of the bunny might appear! I've found it highly amusing, and intend to wind my mum up for as long as possible!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Tell you're mum it proves the dog respects her and thinks she's the boss. Honest. It's the same with cats. When cats bring home something small and furry you're supposed to praise them, cos otherwise they upset.

I believe you! The dog has already brought a dead bird in and left it on the stairs for my mum to tread in, so why she was surprised by a rabbit's head I don't know!

skippy surprised i would have died lol, your poor mum! but as the others have said it is the sign of respect from her adoring dog, i hate it when the cats bring me something, especially when they are still alive, my youngest cat particularly likes frogs and brings many in, i have called the rspca out many a time to rescue birds that the cats have caught, the cats look at me funny when i chase them round the garden to rescue the birds, its a way of life i know but i hate them killing the birds.

Skippy that made me crease up, your poor Mum.

My daughter has a cat (I won’t go into one about how the animals are SUPPOSED to be the children’s , but it’s us that look after them) that brings her spiders, not little ones, only big ones. My daughter screams the house down every time the cat does it, but, I am convinced that cat is confused and thinks my daughter is screaming with delight as it just keeps bringing them.

Our cat brings birds back that are stil alive. We sometimes laugh and say it would be ok if the parrot escaped because the cat would bring her back. Maybe a bit battered though.......The cat not the parrot.

EEEK I would have freaked, I hate the thought of maggots, I have a real phobia, we use maggot therapy at work and I always avoided it, I remember we were going to a training day once and I knew the maggot lady would be there, I worried about it all night, she didnt turn up as she was sick that day, I was so relieved. My cat boris (I know exactly) left me 4 newborn babies, he is always into fights so I kind of didnt expect it, he didnt make any milk so couldnt feed the newborns, I am hand rearing them, they are just lovely. He is at the vet today being 'done'. The vet staff were very suprised by the name.

My cat once managed to bring back a fully grown and very alive magpie through the cat flap. The bird was bigger than he was!! Then we came home once to find a pair of real fur gloves. Not one glove, but a pair of them!! But the best one was when one of my other cats came home with a hot cocktail sausage in his mouth. Who knows where he got it from.

Luckily I'm fine with mice and things, so when they bring them in to run around the house my husband calls me to sort it out. Couldn't deal with spiders though. Probably a good thing that all 3 of my cats are scared of them [:D]
