Entered IVA in 2007. I'm assuming my credit rating will start to improve in August this year ?

I know exactly where you are coming from. It was an ex partner who left me with the problem. I got married last year and havn't changed my name over as yet as I want a clean slate. The CC is so important to me. I feel like my ex still has that little hold on me and feel it's unfair for my husband to be lumbered with my problem.

Hi Rachael, welcome to the forum and congrats on coming to the end of your IVA, you must be so relieved. Hope you get the remaining PPI query sorted out ASAP so you can have your certificate and put the whole chapter behind you.

Best wishes :-)

hi rachel

whilst waiting for your CC as you appear if im reading things correctly to be at or almost at the 6 years mark ( big well done for this achievemnt alone ) i would suggest looking at the 3 main Credit reference agencies to make sure eveything on your credit file is ok ie defaults have dropped off and if not , that the remaing ones have the correct date on ie around the correct month you commenced your IVA

Im registered with checkmyfile.com , as they report on all 3 agencies and this costs £7.99 a month.

one of the reasons it may be good practice to continue with this post certificate , is that one of the CRAS ( cant remember if its Experian or Equifax ) for some reason put a notice Of Correction on stating your IVA has completed satisfactorily. You need to look out for this and get it removed immediately , which in fairness for me they did the same day.

Hope im not teaching you to suck eggs if you have aready done this; however please remember to check for the unwise notice of correction as mentioned above, as this has happended to many forum members

good luck and enjoy your financial freedom

Well I may have made some progress after a few phone calls. The PPI have all come back and are now closed. My I.P. has apparently been informed and hopefully my CC is going to be winging its way to me sooner than later. Watch this space!:

I hope so Foggy I am sick of being passed from one person to another. In the end I made two phone calls to the creditors concerned myself and got the answers straight away. I informed the company dealing with my case they had it confirmed that there wasn't any PPI and closed the case. Now waiting for a response from my IP regarding complete closure.
