Hey Harriet, welcome to the forum. I would ignore advertising like that. IVAs are for debt of usually at least £15,000 and you must have at least three creditors or two creditors with three different lines of credit. The monthly payment will be based on what you can afford after all your essentials are paid. If you can post a few more details about your debt amount, who to, do you own a home etc then we can help further. X

Could you please give us more info?
Who are your creditors and how much you owe to each?

Hi Harriet, and welcome from me too.

I can't add anything to what the others have said. Have you tried filling in the form on this site which gives you an indication of whether or not you would qualify?

Welcome Harriet,as others have said, dont get drawn in by promises of 200 payments. IVA's will be set at a level you can afford, without living on rice and water for years to come. Post a few more details and we will surely be able to help you more.

I think its wrong advertising like that. I could mention several comapnies that i have looked into that advertise the same thing.

Be carefull aswell because one of the companies i looked into on my initial phone call stated payments of around £500 for both me and my partner and when the propsal came through it was for nearer £800.

So like others have said ignore the £200 a month unless after all essentials that is what you can only afford.
Steve.

IVA approved!

That's right tryingtoget help.

It's all done on your disposable income after your essential payments have been made (mortgage or rent, food, fuel, utilities etc).

These advertisements should be altered to reflect the true nature of an IVA. It sounds so easy to do on TV, when the reality is very different indeed.
