I am in the middle of completing an IVA and have filled in a budget sheet. What happens if I get travelling expenses from work and also if my husband works overtime or gets paid weekend enhancements. Any advice appreciated please.[:)][:)]

As far as I know travelling expenses won't be included in your IVA as they are to replace money that you have already spent.

Usually IVAs have a clause where you would pay 50% of any overtime earned.

Skippy is quite correct on both counts - just to point out that these days you are usually allowed to keep the first 10% of any additional earnings from overtime and the 50/50 split is then done on the remainder.

As the others have said. Any reimbursement of monies spent will offset the expenditure already made and will thus have no affect on your IVA.

Any uplift of monies will be dealt with under the terms and conditions of your individual agreement and as Mel says this usually is based on a 50/50 split after the first 10% of uplift money.
Best Regards
Oliver

Thanks folks for all your replies. I have to say this forum is brilliant but feel a bit of a pain sometimes with all the questions I keep asking!

Locko, keep asking away, that's what this forum is for. I know I don't know where I'd be without all the good advice and support. Viki X

I have the same uplift clause in my IVA. My salary consists of a basic one, plus 14% shift allowance and an enhanced payment for a Saturday (I work 2 Saturdays over a five week period for which I get time and a half). All this was reflected in the payslips I submitted to Payplan for the IVA. I presume this must have been taken into account as my normal salary and it is any other overtime etc that I work which I have to declare.

The 10% of any overtime etc - is that 10% of the amount earned extra or an amount equivalent to 10% or your monthly earnings then 50/50 on the rest.

It is 10% of your earnings Elizabeth. So if you earn £1,000 then you would be allowed to retain the first £100 before the 50% uplift kicked in.
