I have started going through my credit files. I'm doing the Equifax one first.
Under Credit Agreements, there is only one credit card still showing. It shows a start date from 2000 & a satisfied & updated date from last year, a month apart. (IVA ended in 2011 but I didn't get my completion certificate until 2012).
The actual IVA is showing as a Notice of Correction with the date it was removed from the Insolvency Service records.
I'd be most grateful if someone can advise on what action I need to take.
Thanks Foggy, but I'm still a bit confused. It's not showing as a default, rather as 'Settled' & the Status section further down shows as 'Partial Settlement' with the explanation 'Payment received as a full and final settlement although the payment would not fully clear the balance.' Do I need/Am I able to have this removed or does it remain for 6 years?
As for the NOC, do I need to send a copy of my CC to Equifax, requesting the removal of the NOC or, can I just phone them?
In the last few months since my CC I too have been cleaning up my credit file it has been a minefield so many things wrong. HFC and Barclaycard were the worst.
What I did was if any dates or still in default I sent a copy of my IVA and CC to the company Data Controller stating they had wrong information on me and should show the account settled. Apart from the two all did just that some removed it completely. After 5 letters to HFC and phone calls they too showed settled Barclaycard sent me £100 cheque after I said I would take them to the small claims court. Also don't forget Callcredit they had things on me that Equifax and Experian didn't. I have signed up for a 28 day free service with both of them to check if the info is correct as my IVA and defaults are 6 years old from the 12/6. Hope it goes well any problems let me know as I more than likly been there in the last months. My credit score now is 998 out 1000 not bad hey.[:D]
Update:I contacted Equifax via the online help system & the NOC was gone within 48 hours.[:)]
Now it's time for Experian. Unlike Equifax, I didn't take the Free 30 Day trial and went for the £2 Statutory Report. Got access to it yesterday to find it clear - apart from the IVA which is still showing as voluntary arrangement with a finish date of 00/00/00.[:(!] Given the prompt response of Equifax, rather than post the CC to them, I thought I'd now opt for the trial to send the CC online requesting removal. Unfortunately, I now have to wait 5 days for another PIN number.[:(]
I'm still waiting for the Call Credit report to arrive by post.
PS How easy is it to cancel the Equifax & Experian trials? I don't want to end up paying money for this?

It is a true nightmare to cancel experian I had many trucks with them. I recorded all phone calls which proved I had asked for it to be canceled. When told them this they asked to listen to them. I said ok no problem but there will be a charge of£20 per call you listen to plus £5 per min listening fee plus £30 retrieval fee for each call from my pc. There was a long silence and then I got put on hold and then told that they had cancelled my subscription.

I've read several reports where people have had problems cancelling with Experian. In hindsight, I now wish I'd just posted my CC off to them.
The Call Credit report arrived today & that's as clean as a whistle - only insurance searches on it. So, there's just the IVA to be removed from the Experian report.
