I have a prepaid mastercard as it gives me 5% cashback off my shopping and petrol at Sainsbury's, and other retailers too. I also have a cashplus mastercard with creditbuilder to help my credit report.
I couldn't get the Cashplus card as I didn't have the ID they wanted when I applied last year. Now I can't reapply without getting everything certified, so I'm not bothering. It's a shame, as the credit builder thing would have definitely interested me.

In the UK,and Western Europe you don't need anything else but a masetro card.....this is accepted everywhere. Why is the VElectron is more popular in Asia amd W/Eastern Europe than the UK? This card is not much use to the UK traveller.
However only two Banks will give you the M'Stro card whilst in an IVA.
The cardplus precard is an amazing card and takes pre-authorisation before the actual charge-a must for hotel use. If you are abroad this is the next best thing to a VDebit card you can put upto 15K in.Still the best prepaidcard.
I don't think many of us will be bothered about being able to load on such a large amount!
I'm quite happy with the Visa one I have, and will stick with it till I'm finished.
Won't be needing it for hotels any time soon.
