I was going to cancel my vodafone contract and go onto pay as you talk to save money. I wrote the letter to end my contract and had a call off the sales team in response. They offered me various deals to which I said no to. He then offered me £12.50 line rental with 1000 texts and 750 minutes which I accepted! Feel really pleased I have such a bargain.

If anyone else is on a contract it is worth giving the phone company a ring and seeing what they can come up with. It's amazing how low they will go to keep your custom.

Vodafone reduced my tariff when I went BR - sadly not as low as yours though Poppy! I was only 6 months into an 18 month contract and they weren't one of my creditors so I didn't really have a lot of room for negotiation but they reduced it from £35 to £25 and gave me free texts.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

I just tried to cancel my phone contract, as when they sent the phone they didnt include the charger, they did send me one but they said they would charge me for it and then credit me for it. Last weekend they cut me off, because I hadnt paid for it!!!! At the time we were going to stratford in a little convoy with my son following having just passed his test, I couldnt contact him and he couldnt contact me, what a stress that day turned out to be. I was really angry and said I wanted to hand it back, I have been a customer for a long time. They said they would charge me 400 pound to cancel it. I said I wouldnt pay it and they would have a hard job getting it out of me as I had paid for a service I wasnt getting, the phone packed up completely. They said I could send it back,(at a cost to me) and I would get another phone the same model when they were satisfied it was not cosmetically damaged. I dont think so, and I told them so, wrote a complaint and they gave me a new phone of my choice, three months free, plus 25 pounds credit, worth a letter and a phone call.(and a mention of trading standards) Still I was so angry about the day we lost and the fact they cut me off without warning and without reason, I have a DD on my account and it was paid the week before. I really thought my son had an accident because the bar came up as user busy. I thought I would be better off with pay as you go as the main aspect for me in my circumstances is reliability.
