I fully understand that you are not being told to keep it. I think you are miss understanding my use of the term "keep it". I am using it on the basis that you are being told to "keep it" on behalf of your IP not keep it as in its yours..
My confusion with all of this is why you are being asked to keep hold of a sum of money which is an asset of the IVA. If you had come into a bonus from work, or received overtime, then you would have to report it to your IP and hand the money over straight away, or within a couple of weeks, they would not say you keep hold of it for now....

Just clarify, my reference to Mels posts on other threads is that she believes all PPI claims should be handled by a claims specialist, and not individuals, and that all PPI money is an asset and has to be reclaimed and paid into the IVA for the benefit of the creditors..

From GT
Grant Thornton do not take a 30% fee of any PPI redress; fees are deducted in line with your IVA Proposal and Chairman's Report. EIC are entitled to a 39% fee of the PPI redress, for the investigation work that they complete. If you are not satisfied with the fee deduction, you can pursue this independently and provide confirmation of the outcome of the investigation. However, I can confirm that due to the evolving process concerning PPI, the option to opt out is available if you are certain that no such claim exists. A declaration of no claim form will require your signature to verify that you have no claim and will therefore not be pursuing this now of in the future.
