Yet another rubbish weekend......[:(]

Yesterday we went shopping and the heavens opened on the way home. The drains in the area couldn't cope with the amount of rain, I commented that we would be find - flood wise as we were at the top of a hill. [^] We dived out of the car and run into the back garden to rush in through the back door only to be stopped in our tracks as we were ankle deep in water. [:0] The water was about 1cm below the back step so we were stood in the rain unblocking the grid so the water would drain away......

Today after standing and ironing all day, I though right a bit of quiet time I'll sit and read.....drip, drip, drip, drip.........

We have a leak in the bay in the living room. GREAT!!!
The bay has a flat roof and the living room is the only room in the house that has the original ornante coving. The said cving is now sopping wet as is the laminate and it won't stop blinking raining. I have been told it is going to cost a pretty sum to get it repaired. [:(][B)]

I hate water.............

This house is jinxed the night before we were going away about two years ago the main water supply that comes into the house sprang a leak inside and we had to dig up half the front garden - it took 8 weeks to dry the walls out!

Why is nothing straight forward..

Sorry for moaning just really fed up - git work tomorrow and will probably come home to the living room ceiling on the floor.

[xx(]

Marie, what a terrible time you are having!

Just when you think you have managed to save your house from water, you get more.

Can you not claim on your insurance for the leak and for the laminate?

OH NO! I'm so sorry hun. I don't know what to suggest. That's really awful. This bloomin weather, it makes everyone miserable and causes all these problems. Hubby told me there were tornadoes in the midlands today! What are you going to do? It would happen at the weekend wouldn't it! Thinking of you and I'm sending you dry thoughts.[:I] X

We are really reluctant to claim of the insurance as our premium went up to nearly £1000 last year due to the flood, and somebody fell through our garage roof, then somebody robbed our shed........

Not sure what we are going to do - crying won't help, make things wetter [:)] so we have put a bucket out and put the heating on as there is a radiator underneath the wet bit.

Thanks Jan and Viki.........

Its happening everywhere.
My mum said she was in bed reading last night and she heard dripping. When she looked up, theres a bubble in her bedroom ceiling and its ready to burst.
I will be surprised if it hasnt burst by now after all the rain we have had tonight.

Marie i hope you manage to get it sorted and the floor isnt too badly damaged.

I'm sick of this weather as well. We had an absolute downpour last night - hail and everything. I left my drying until today in the hope it would dry up and I could put it outside. No chance, so the dryer is going full pelt at the moment.

Ang, I would love to move abroad. This country is fast going down the pan in every respect. Wish I had the money I'd be on the next plane out.

Awww Marie, what a test this is? I am totally fed up also, my guttering at the front is rubbish, we have to close the windows as it just comes in. I have dug up my back garden and we cant finish it due to it being so wet. Its a muddy bog. The cats and the dog keep bringing it in. The beds need changing from the foot prints but I am so struggling with the washing. I just cant cope with it. Apparently according to the internet it isnt going to rain anymore tonight, so I have just squelched out there to hang some towels out. I really cant use the dryer, I cant afford it. I am almost ready to cry, so fed up, the road that leads out of here is flooded and blocked. Its my sons birthday today, so I didnt cry. We are going for a meal deal it a bit, the wellies are out. Its July, I cant believe it is really july.

Yes, it sucks and it squelches but there is always someone worse off. I am going to try to get away next year.
