Hello folks,

::Waves and says Hi!:: [:)]

I'm a long time compulsive lurker (I've jsut realised how horrendous that sounds! [:0]) and after months of reading the forum and provaricating I've finally taken the plunge and have prepared all my documentation to send off for an IVA with a recommended IP [:D]...

First I have to thank you folks - if you hadn't been so open on these forums with your views and experiences, I doubt I would have built up the courage to address my debt. I would have just kept on struggling.

Second, now I've taken the plunge, I'm hoping to now post more, and also hopefully see some of you in Cardiff tomorrow at the Frugal Friends meeting.

And finally, WHY DO POST OFFICES SHUT ON SUNDAY??!! Having prepared all the paperwork, I want to send it *NOW* and not wait until tomorrow!! Given that it's taken me the best part of a year to get the courage, one day won't make the slightest bit of difference, but it's the principle of the thing! [;)]

Welcome to the forum Robbiecat and good luck with your IVA!

As well as the Post Office being closed on a Sunday, why do Homebase have to close at 4pm on a Sunday when I'm trying to put the Christmas decorations up and we haven't got enough lights to go round the tree?!?

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Hi Robbiecat

I was looking at the forum for ages before I first posted and found the advice and experiences of others invaluble to my own situation and helped me prepare my own iva. I was clueless before I found this forum and it helped me make much more informed choices.

Good luck with your own iva and keep posting

Good luck Robbiecat, and if IVA is the right thing for you then it'll make a great difference to your life. It's def not all easy, but knowing that you're no longer borrowing and living within your own means is a great feeling!!

You're clearly way better at research than me... spent 6 months working up the courage to make my first contact re IVA, and that 20 months before finding this site. Great support and invaluable advice on here, so wish I'd come accross it sooner....

Best of luck....

Martin

Thanks for the welcome guys. [:)]

I was supposed to make it to the Frugal Friends meet in Cardiff last night, but got delayed so couldn't go. [:(]

The paperwork is now with the IP, and they've already been on the phone - I then got a call from a creditor 15 minutes after the IP. It was really VERY liberating being able to tell the creditor to "s*d off" because they now have to deal with my IP. :)

I can already see the changes, and I like them! [:D]
