Hey Trina, I haven't had my meeting called yet as I'm doing something a bit different. It is a full and final/lump sum IVA using the proceeds from the sale of my restaurant......which hasn't sold yet! I'm hoping sale will go through in the next month so fingers crossed. I think you're with the best team and don't worry, you're not jinxing it. I'm sure it won't be long for you. X

Trina

I am glad you ar with Melanie - she will not put forward proposals that she doesn't think will get accepted - I personally feel there has to be someting a bit strange for them not to be ccepted but I too am like you and am not counting my chickens....

Have nice sleep.

Evening guys,

Had a good day today, done my shopping in aldi's and pricechecked things as I went along, never done that before. Shopping came in cheaper than asda's which is great, at the moment I'm on a saving mission and budgeting for everying but as you know it's very early stages and have only just sent papers in.

Came home and de-cluttered loads of old things which were of no use to me to sell on ebay, only thing is I cant sell them yet till I have all details of new bank account - gutted.

a quick question for anybody, my car isn't of high value but if I was to sell it when in the iva and buy a cheaper car do I get to keep the difference?? I don't mean to sound like i'm trying to evade paying what i should but just wandered!

I think if your car is exempt in your IVA you can sell it, but bear in mind that it's got to last for at least the length of your IVA, so it could be false economy to sell it.

Hi everyone
My first time posting, so hope it ends up in the right place ?
I have been reading the forum for a few weeks now, never had the courage to admit before that I was up to my eyes in debt approx £50000 I could not afford to pay back. My parter also owes about £40000.

Like Trina we were using credit to buy food etc as payments left us no spare cash. Few weeks ago finally bit the bullet and contacted the IVA Advice Bureau. Decided to try for IVA,hopefully best decision I've made. Have sent most paperwork off now to Melanies team.

All you people on the forum have given us some hope during a very dark period as we realise we are not alone in this.

Thanx

Graham

Hi Trina ... there is a great sense of satisfaction when you budget carefully isn't there ... and manage to find a few bargains! And I'm really glad to see that you are feeling more positive about life.

Graham ... welcome to the Forum and all the best in putting your IVA together.

Good Evening folks,

Not had a very good day today, dropped a fire extinguiser on my foot, the air was blue and so is my foot!!

Feeling really anxious today and not sleeping very well, got most of my paperwork together but landlords still havn't sent me the info I required. I just want to get all the paperwork in to Melanie, then thats the first hurdle over with. I'm sick to death with all the creditors ringing theyre stressing me out even more.

Hopefully tomorrow will bring a more positive feel, I know the process is going to take a few weeks, but it's emotionally draining, isnt it.

I keep reading the posts most nights and dont think I'd get through all this without them.

Your all a great bunch.

oh on my financial statement it was more like 60k not 45k, how could I have let it get this bad.

I just need to keep telling myself to keep positive, and I know we will get through the other side, just want a better future for my family.

I will feel better at least when there is a date for the creditors meeting ( I think this is what it's called)

xx
