I have an IVA, we have been paying for 14 months now. When we started we had 2 cars which were on personal loans so we were advised to put them in the IVA as they could not be taken ( we were willing to pay for them). We now need to get rid of one as it is no longer needed due to disabled husband no longer driving. Our ip told us it was fine to sell it and pay any money we got off our IVA however when we went to sell it they said it showed up on an hpi check and we could not sell it. Stuck now as need new cooker which we could have got out of money and paid rest off iva. So we have a car we dont need and still have to tax etc and no cooker. Help
Hi there, I would definitely have a word with your IP in respect of the cooker as that you can't do without, unsure about the car, does the finance company have to take this back? x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Sorry about this post being on twice, this is the one I wrote first but it did not appear so I assumed I had done it wrong. The car is not under threat of being took away, the confusion is why ip told me it would not show on hpi check as personal loan, so I could sell it and use some of money for cooker and give rest to IVA, yet it has, therefore cannot sell it and it sitting usused.

I would speak to your IP about this and definitely declare it SORN at the moment so it doesn't cost you anything.
