We have taken that step, and although I feel relieved at times that things are moving forward, I am still petrified ! Grant Thornton have just collected our paperwork to put the wheels in motion for our IVA (debt of 90k - ouch) Am in right in assuming that if our IVA is accepted and once a payment amount has any overtime my husband earns has to be paid into the IVA ? GT are being really helpful, but I can't help but worry and want to make myself aware in advance so we don't get any nasty shocks.

Hi, and welcome to the forum, it's a lifeline! I'm new here too and in a similar position to yourself...good luck on your journey.
7 year IVA completed in December 2016 - there is light at the end of that tunnel

Hi all !
I've just had a really difficult telephone conversation with MBNA (from lady in India!) with the caller telling us how risky an IVA is, that they could help us (only a fifth of our debt is with them) by freezing interest for 3 months if we made a payment etc. I advised them that we were not in a position to pick and chose which creditors to pay and that they would be hearing from our IP (GT) in the very near future. After 20 minutes I told the lady that I hoped the call was being recorded as I felt her manner to be both intimidating and threatening, as she said we would continue to get these calls, to which I replied that we would make a conscious effort to ignore their calls and that they should wait to hear from GT.
Is this the right thing to do ? Your valued advice would be greatly appreciated.
