Haven't had our new sky card either....I don't know what we'd do without sky!!

[:D]I just had cheese on toast with a worcestershire sauce [:D] Not good for the diet, but i'm not weighing now, measuring instead and have lost 1.5 inches off my waist! just need to get rid of the double chin [:D]

This is scaring me, I am just about to go onto sky, I have been on virgin media for years but they dont do it in my new house, too remote. I have recieved a new card, well it might be an old one for all I know. I was looking forward to sky, its supposed to be better than Virgin.

I have lost half a stone in two weeks, Not trying either.

We've been with Sky for years and love it.

Mind you, can't get anything else as we don't have cable and are never likely to get it!

Sky is excellent and I've said we'll sell the sofa before we get rid of Sky! Having worked for cable I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot bargepole!

I have never had anything else so nothing to compare it with, it was cheaper and all inclusive but the box doesnt do what it should.

The only other option is freeview. I have already signed up to sky, they are installing on the afternoon that we move in.

Neil here,

Just wanted to add my support to the weightloss forum. there was a quote in the first Matrix film that has stuck with me - it relates to a concept called residual self image. In the film a pale emaciated shaven headed Keanu Reeves doesn't see himself as he really is, he sees himself as a healthy young man with planty of well conditioned hair on his head.

Whats my point I hear you ask... well its the closest way I can find to describe my weight problem. You see I am very over weight, weighing in at over 18 stone and I'm only 5'10". The wrold sees this short very fat bespectacled guy, but my residual self image (get it) is of someone much less fat.

I just cannot motivate myself to lose the weight because I don't recognise I have a problem - which interestingly echos my previous money problems when I was unable to recognise I didn't have any and carried on spending anyway...

So, have unburdened myself I just wanted to drop in and say hello, and let you know that now I'm taking positive steps to change my financial lifestyle its time to follow suit with the physical. I'll try to keep posting with my results and details of how I'm doing it for anyone who is interested - especially for those who want a male perspective of weight loss!

Hi Neil and welcome.

I've struggled with my weight for years but a couple of years ago joined slimming world and lost 2 stone. Unfortunately, due to a tragedy in my family I gave up then and have been half hearted about doing anything since then.

I rejoined sw mid Jan and have lost 18.5 pounds since then, it's going a bit slower this time and the last couple of weeks I've put on, first 1 pound and this week 0.5, a bit of a bummer! but I'll get back on it now.

I'm glad you're facing the future so positively and look forward to your updates on the money situation and the weight as well, together we'll all get through it successfully!

Why is it I always look fatter in hotel mirrors than in mine at home? I reckon the hotels are in cahoots with the slimming industry and fit distorting mirrors!!

Ladyh, that wasn't good! Still, you had a good excuse though!

Good to see that you are on the straight and narrow again!

I weighed myself tonight for the first time in ages and for once I'm losing, but guessing it's stress related, started 15:11!!!! now 14.13 and a quarter pound so I'm hoping to get it down to 14:11 by the end of the month!

Hopefully time we all meet in July I wont' look like a man in drag!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Good weight loss Lesley - not a good reason why though!

My total weight loss to date is now 6 stones. It has slowed down considerably but I've not been doing as much exercise as I could so I must motivate myself!

Well done Ladyh, you're doing really well.

I'm not even going to bother weighing myself this week as it's all gone wrong - again!
