That's really good Lula. I've walked it for the last 2 years and I'm hoping to beat my best time of 49 minutes in 2005 - I've got to have a target as I can't run it!

Hi Skippy if there is any silver lining in this process - so far I have lost a stone through worry I suppose!

Hi Guys

I lost loads just with the worry of it all and the stress of the last eight months. Its still coming off, its a problem because none of my clothes fit anymore, I was in a size 14 and now a 12 is too big, I sorted all my clothes and only have one pair of jeans that actually fit. Start saving for your new wardrobes now.

Hi all.

Well you can count me in too. In 2005 I lost 3 stone but then last year put it all back on. I know living within a budget will assist me in losing weight - walking instead of spending bus fare, getting my bike out instead of driving to the shops and no takeaways and bottles of wine!!!!

The good thing for me is I bought a lot of nice clothes back then when I had got down to my target but I haven't been able to wear since. 4 nice shirts, 3 jumpers, a couple of casual shirts, 2 pairs of trousers and a leather jacket. A whole "nearly new" wardrobe ready for when the weight comes off.

Top tip for the forum. If you don't want to pay gym memberships but are overweight speak to your practice nurse at your health centre. My blood pressure is slightly high so they can prescribe gym sessions at your local leisure centre. I think its a 12 week course and you pay subsidised fees per visit. I have my induction and will be given a training programme a week on Tuesday.

Good luck everyone

Dave

Dave

I've been pretty good today, but yesterday was another story! We went round friends and they bought us a takeaway so I had rather a lot to eat! I did go to the gym this morning to try and make up for it! I'm lucky as work pay most of my gym membership - it only costs me £100 a year. I've got my Weight Watchers weigh in tomorrow night so fingers crossed I've lost a bit! I'm thinking of switching to the Slimming World diet, as like you say Tracy you can eat more. If I do I'll still weigh in at Weight Watchers though - I don't stay for the meeting and the WW group is more convenient than SW. I've done both so I can still know what to do. I'll see how I get on tomorrow and decide after that.

Hi Skippy well i have tryed ww but was always starving by early evening and had had all my points, but with sw i do have lots of green days so eat loads of pasta or make chips with the spray so im never hungry,or on the red day always save one of my healthy options and have wheetabix,or a bowl of porridge.
Today ive had egg bacon tin of meatballs and for dinner am having steak mushrooms and a stirfry, you can have so much.
Goodluck 2moro if you do decide to go back to sw i have loads of recipes, and they are easy but nice.x

Thanks Tracy. I know what you mean about being hungry! I like things like cous cous and rice so I always have loads of green days, and I really liked the mix 2 match as it meant I didn't have to plan the whole day in advance. If I decide to do SW again I'll take you up on the offer of the recipes!

Well Guys, the time is almost here for me to set off for Fat Fighters, sorry Weight Watchers, and part with my hard earned £5! Wish me luck, and I'll let you know how I did later!

Just remember what Peter Kay says: "If you take the C off chips what have you got?" Lol.

Good luck

Well I'm back, and somehow I've managed to lose 1.5lb, despite the comfort eating (and drinking!) after the FA Cup final!
