Well I've well and truly fallen off the wagon - Dave bought me a curry tonight to make up for having a bad weekend! Oh well, I'll have to drag my fat belly to the gym tomorrow! I started to lose interest when my knee gave up and I was told not to run, but I've got a new programme now, so no excuses!

Hi Skippy really sorry you had C..P wkend i know how much you were looking forward to your concert, and dont worry bout falling of the wagon ive done the same but 2moro's another day.
We are what we are and Dave loves you regardless so as much as like me we have this image that if we are slim it will make a difference im not sure who to,i know for me i look at myself and keep thinking if only i could look good in that pair of jeans i'd feel so much better but in all honesty it won't change who i am im not saying i will give up but sometimes i'd like to be happy for who i am not what i could be.
Oh well as i said tomorrows another day back to the grinstone.

Thanks for your kind words Tracy and Kerri. I know I'm lucky with Dave and I know he loves me the way I am (even if I was 2 stone lighter when we met!).

Good luck to my fellow dieters!

I think I'll have some of this - a couple of years ago I weighed 21st 4 but trimmed down by almost 5 stone and now float aroun 16st 7.... I've had one or two footballing injuries (now that i'm fit enough to play again!) and have been out for 7 weeks with my ribs and previously 6 weeks with my back, but all looks fine again now. So the push is back on - played football in the rain for 2hrs yesterday and ache today, might go to the gym tonight if I'm a bit better, if not then definitely tomorrow!

Yes... I know I ask too many questions!

That's really good Simon - you did really well to lose that weight. A few years ago I was 14.5 stone, went down to 10stone 3lb and now hover around the 12.5 mark, which is way too heavy for me. I had started running at the gym, but unfortunately my already damaged knee packed up, so it's going to take a bit longer to shift the weight as I can't run any more. Well done for playing footie in the rain, I'm a fair weather exerciser, which is why the gym suits me, especially as work pay!

Ah Skippy well done on losing 4 stone though - at an initial start of 14st that's a hell of a proportion and must have been really difficult. People always say to me about dieting but the main thing I did was cut out alcohol, drink plenty of still water and excercise. Apart from that, I ate regular meals in relative portions and the weight came off. It's stayed constant for a while now which I don't like but then people who haven't seen me for a while say i've lost more weight... I haven't but it's nice to know as my body shape is obviously changing without the weight actually coming off.

Gym can get boring I find which is why I mix it up with football and squash as well.... outdoor running would be good I'm sure - would sweat more in the Summer hey! Depends on what your knee will allow I suppose - can I ask your age and gender, just out of interest to gauge your circumstance?

I actually enjoy the gym when I get there. Running outdoors would be nice but the area where I live isn't very nice - I suppose I would learn to run faster when I have to gte past the kids hanging around on the corner! We are hoping to move to a nicer area this year, and if we go where we want I'll be able to use my bike, as that doesn't seem to hurt my knee. It's taken me a long time but I'm learning to enjoy exercise, and to answer your question I'm 32 and a girlie!
