I had wondered about that as well - and can now see that I was right in my thinking.

We will never condone this sort of thing on the forum, so you will get no advice about that.

You took the finance out, presumably with the intention of paying it back. As regards any excess charges, that is between you and Welcome.

People trying to avoid paying debts are not welcome here.

I am not nor have never tried to avoid paying debts, But I have paid what is owed as contracted and they want another £6k that looks to be fraudulent practice, Thats why I am hoping they have lost the contract...

Thank you for your thaughts but really you should get the full picture before jumping on people... and I can see that Welcome are known for operating in this way (after some reasearch)...

Thank you Again

Welcome Finance are well known for their "dodgy" recovery tactics, (charging you for them calling you, high interest, etc) I know its not much help to you now, but you must have been aware of this when you signed the credit agreement
I was not aware of there underhand tatics and there ethic's... All I thought was its a company thats offering loans to people with bad credit files with high interest, and thought they had rules and laws to follow but it seems they get away with what they are doing... presumably because that are paying high amounts of taxes to the state I dont know... (reference trading standatds blogger site)..

Thank you again

Sorry, but it does look like debt avoidance.

As previously stated, we do not condone this and you should take it up with Welcome.

Hi
I think you need to challenge vWelcome about the extra charges. You have been charged between 15 and 30 pounds in one day for a failed card transaction even though the payment actually went through later in the day.
Please let us know how you get on
Regards

Hi, I feel sorry for you as I too have been a victim of Welcome Finance and know only too well of their underhandedness. Go through everything with a fine toothcomb and challenge Welcome Finance. If you send anything in writing to them, send it via Recorded Delivery and DO NOT SIGN YOUR NAME AT THE BOTTOM.. You don't appear to be getting much good advice from this forum and I don't believe that you are trying to avoid paying off your debts. After all, you registered on this site to get assistance, none of which you have had mainly because it would appear that the forum experts do not appear to know enough about WF to make a knowledgeable comment or helpful reply. Try CarCreditComplaints website - they are very helpful and knowledgeable re.: Welcome Finance. I just thought I'd offer you a bit more help than you seem to have received thus far.

How about checking out the Money Saving Expert website too? It is a wonderful resource of information on all things financial and I imagine many people will have come across Welcome Finance on there previously! Hope you get this sorted

I hope he gets it sorted too. My last payment to WF is in February 2010, but guess what...... they're still blacklisting me every month for non payment lolol..(never ever missed one)!!... I won't even go into the problems I've had with them least to say I only owe them £268.70 because I counterclaimed them when they tried to take me to Court, but they're still saying on my credit report that I still owe them £1,589!!!..needless to say I'm still fighting them after Court!..
I get my regular weekly letters from Martin's Moneysaver, but I'm going to check the Money Saving Expert website too. Always up for saving a bob or two. Cheers!.

I think this is more in the line of the Consumer Action Group's forum. Worth seeing what they say.

I've got the FOS investigating them atm and I understand that if they continue to refuse to amend my credit report, I can also report them to the Information Commissioners office. Both the FOS and I are awaiting a reply from WF to our last communication. They have about 4/5 weeks left to go. It's a shame really because no thanks to WF my partner and I have been refused a mortgage, so I have nothing to thank WF for, but I am grateful for your support. They also, to top things off, sent me a letter agreeing to refund me my PPI and now they're even disputing that!!.... it never rains, but it pours.... what is the complaints/action consumer forum please??
