In jan 2013 i was made redundant from a £29000 a year job. I informed my IVA company before this happened and again once it had happened. Everything sounded ok and that we could still carry on with reduced payments. It soon became clear that this was not the case as everytime i spoke to somebody at the iva company they told me something different. I had insurance so this paid out. Until i got a new job, which was in june 2013. However this was only part time and earning £9000. I explained this to the IVA company and they asked we to continue paying the original amount, which we could no longer afford. The insurance company stopped paying as i was working again and i had to stop my direct debit as they continued to take the original amount. I nhad to make many phonecalls and they kept saying they would sort it and reduce the payments, but never did. I was eventually given a defalut notice and again i spoke to them to say i have not refused to pay i just cant pay what they are asking for. They eventually over the phone did a new income and exp form and decided we were no longer in a position to pay the IVA and as we had been paying for 5 years they would go for a full and final settlement. This was novemeber last year and i have now not heard anything, they dont call me, they dont respond to me and i am no longer knowing whats happening. We are due to finish in october this year and my main worry is that they will wait until i get a full time job and then extend and ask for back pay. Which is not fair as they should of reassesed our situation and changed it to suit. I am no not sleeping again the stress is causing me illness and i feel like i have gone right back to the start. I dont know what to do or where to go for help. I expected the IVA company to support us more in situations like this but they have just closed down. I back through the same company and they have stopped calling, making the monthly checks they used to as well.

Really sorry to hear this . It sounds as though you are being treated in a very shoddy way by your IVA company . Hopefully one of the experts will be along to advise you what to do next .
