I've made the call for advice, informed my employer that I'm seeking a debt management solution so I'm dealing responsibly with my debts. I'm then in a position where I have to consider the solutions open to me. My question is regarding my creditors, do I carry on paying them something? (I'd rather not)how and what do I communicate to them?
You've taken that most important first step. As you are in the process of setting up a plan, you could possibly just make token payments to your creditors.
At least then it shows that you are willing to make an effort to pay back your debts.
You can write to them and tell them what you are doing, and that you will only be making token payments until it is all sorted. You'll still get calls and letters, but pass these on to your company.

I agree with Jan, making small token payments can stop the creditors hassling you for a while until you've sorted something. You could also stop paying altogether to build up a little contingency. The choice is yours. Good luck and keep posting to let us know how you get on. X
A debt management plan ought to be able to be set up in a very short time - no longer than 7 days - so there ought to be no need to make holding token payments in the interim.
Hi Norm, there are some letter templates on this forum that you could have a look at - they cover contacting your creditors and offering token payments. Good luck and keep posting!
