I am working with Wilson Philips as my IVA. I just lacked the courage until now to talk to my partner and explain the situation. I gave him half, because he is my other half. I am lucky though I have the property to add to the pot. I just wish now I had that money in the bank and that would be an end to all my problems. Well the money related ones anyway. I am glad to have such a supportive partner. Now to try and get some sleep. I seem to manage about 3 hours a night....

Will be interested to see how Wilson Phillips tackle this issue. Keep us informed of your progress.

Please forgive me, but that sounds very ominous?

Not meant to - I'm just a very curious and nosy person.

They reckon that a debt management program would be more advisable at this stage and an IVA is not for me. At least it might give me a breathing space for a while until i see what happens regarding the townhouse.

I have been asked to enter into a debt management program. I am not sure if this is the right option for me or not. The advisor took me through my options and has told me it is relatively easy to set up and I can get back on my feet much quicker. I could sell off the townhouse (hopefully) and so use it to clear any debt.

If you have any doubts, try another couple of companies, just to test out the middle ground.

By the way, I am so glad you managed to tell your other half, still thinking of you, and hoping that you feel a little better about it all.

Take care, we are always here.

I will have to do a bit more reading about them to see what they are all about. As long as I get some kind of a breathing space. I believe that I can still go into an IVA afterwards, depending on what happens. It would be good to have a little stability in my life. That's been lacking so far. My partner is in Spain and we've been apart for 7 months now, so that just makes things even more difficult.

I believe you can check out companies on IVA.com just to see feedback from other users.

I would take a look at bankruptcy - i have had an IVA 2 years and had nothing but trouble and messing around - and when you enter into an IVA they will not tell you its classed as BANKRUPTCY anyway AND IF YOU GO BANKRUPT it only lasts 9-12 mths- i wish i had done this and i am still looking at doing this after speaking with Citizen Advice Bureaux.

I feel that if I can get my payments reduced and most charges set aside, I could possibly put more money aside. Grab hold of the steering wheel of my life so to speak and not feel like I am spiraling out of control. My partner is equally willing to help. If the townhouse manages to sell, then it can be used to pay off some or all of the debt and more. I think I just need a breather. The last 8-9 months have had so many bumps on the road, it's bound to have had an emotional impact one me. Dealing with stress reduces my ability to keep negative thoughts aside. I have been there before. I have been described as a reactionary depressive. Stress = more stress = depression.

Hi worried sick.. try and keep your chin up Sometimes its better if you can relax, and take a step back. then when you come to address things again, sometimes things seem alot clearer. Being away from your partner can be tough also if you feel like you're on your own. can you not meet up even for a few days. I'm sure this would help, at least to lift the grey bits for a while
Ang.. 13 payments in.. WOW, thats over 20% paid!! http://angela18.blogs.iva.co.uk/ well here we go

if you wish for a rainbow... then you have to put up with the rain xx
