What happens after my IVA finishes in August ? Will my name be clear ?

Is it worth trying to improve your credit score before the IVA comes off after 6 years? Can you improve it significantly while the IVA is still showing? I would be interested in hearing how long it takes to improve this if anyone has any experience with it?
