Hi John,

It does take a while to come down, doesn't it? You should get the chairmans report through in a few days which will have all your court details on it.

Have you been told yet when to start making your payments?

That's about it really. Once your DD or SO is set up, you just sit back and let it take it's course.

Any letters from creditors, either send them on, or shred them. Any phone calls, you can take great delight in telling them that they can't touch you now!

Of course, some might take a little longer to convince, but don't worry about them.

Personally any letters from creditors I would send to your IP as they can contact them for you and remind them of the IVA existance - we also took copies of the chairmans report and when creditors continued to contact us in the first couple of months we would send them a copy of the report. I also logged all the calls we received and the names of the staff - that way when they ring the following week you can quote who and when you spoke to people - also refer them to the Insolvency website as your name will appear on the list within a couple of weeks and they can use that as evidence of what you are saying !

Keep your receipts for food and petrol and other ad hoc expenses as you may need these at annual review stage - also it helps to show that you are living within your means.

Good luck and welcome to the journey of a debt free life !

Mind you, if Mercers was one of your creditors, they do have a tendency to keep phoning and say they haven't been told about the IVA. They refuse to check the register as well.

Hopefully, your creditors will leave you alone, as mine did.

You ought to have been asked to provide your written agreement to any creditor modifications prior to the confirmation of your IVA being in place. This will then be confirmed to you in the Chairman's Report of the meeting, which has to be forwarded to Court, creditors and yourself within 4 days of the meeting date.
