Sadsack I opened an account at coop, I was honest with them and told them of my debts. They were very helpful and non judgemental. I have a debit card internet banking and a paying in book, its the cashminder account. I needed a driving licence and a council tax bill and that was it.

Hi Lily

Thanks for the info - think I will tell Barclays to shove it and move away from them. As Andy says, £1800 is a lot of money and Barclays are not worth keeping for that! Silly numpty's!!!
