Hi all,

What would be the situation if you couldnt get another "basic" bank account just before you are setting up an IVA?

I ask because both banks i have now gone to (Co-op and Yorkshire) have told me i need to wait until next week for an answer. I applied for Co-op by phone, and Yorkshire at Branch. (The Yorkshire rep only took my details down on paper and not on a computer)

thanks

I have never know anyone not be able to get a basis bank account, and if not your IP may be able to recommend a couple of alternatives.

Alliance and Leicester are pretty good in my area but I do not know if branches operate their own policy or whether it is national. A/L are part of a Spanish Group who also own Abbey

The only other alternative if you can't manage to get a basic account, is something like Thinkbanking. The downside with that is that it does carry a monthly charge.
