Just spoken to the surveyor and told her. She says I will speak to the plumbing company and they will probably have a machine to suck the water out. I said no they will stink she says open a window. They are that wet when you walk on them it makes a puddle. I told her they will have to clean the whole carpet and stairs as well or it will look different to the rest. How do yopu clean the underlay as well. I am slowly getting vexed now, I bet if it was their carpet they would get it replaced.

I would claim off their insurance for your carpets Ang.. why should you have the hassle of sorting out the problem when it's their fault,
xx
It's nice to be back......

This is terrible Ang, I really feel for you. I agree with Chris - try and claim off their insurance.

Exactly if they had responded when I rang the damage would be minor and would have dried out, but 12 hours later before any response from them and 5 calls that I made its not my fault I tried to prevent it and their incompetance caused it. just to add water now dripping through the ceiling, they are fetching a standard valve for a radiator,so far they have been gone nearly an hour. It just gets better.

Hi Ang

Sorry to hear of the saga of the heating, can I ask who your landlord is. I am no expert on heating but may be able to advise you on a course of action with regard to the probs with the housing. If you wish to do this off the forum then we need to sort out how that works and I will be more than happy to try to help.

Thanks

John

John That is so kind. They are sucking away with a vax machine at present, but I have told them to tell the boss I want the carpet cleaned. I will sort them.
Admin can pass my email on if you would like, If you now a bit about housing associations, I think you will be surprised to hear which one this is, a supposed model to everyone. Not really so bad but so reliant on grants that they penny pinch over everything.

Well just an update. they changed the valve and spent one and a half hours sucking the water out of the carpet. They have done a good job and the carpet looks ok, luckily the radiators were drained not long ago and the water wasnt too discoloured. So the carpets are left to dry and the ceiling which started to leak has to dry and they will sort it if the paper discolours. I told them they will have to professionally clean the carpets if they smell at all We will wait and see.
Thanks to all for the support, its just nice to have someone to have a moan at when these things happen.
Ta lots. Ang xxx

Lesley and Vicki Thanks. All has survived remarkably well considering how much water had leaked.Slight smell at the moment so I will give it a few days and see, or they can come and sort it out. The weather has helped really hot here today.
John all is ok and I have your email now will send one when I get back from the meeting tomorrow anyway. Thanks.

Ang xx
