yes it's me the female in our relationship that deals with all money issues! I don't blame myself however for our mess, I always blame us and I do keep him totally in the picture, but to be honest he doesn't listen! He like others knows nothing about gas/electric prices, mortgage amount, his wage slip he throws on the microwave unopened each week and mail I open as if he is there when the postman comes, even it's addressed to him he doesn't open it. When I sat him down and explained an IVA i.e no credit, everything cash, budget for this and that, he said 'well that's how it should be really in reality isn't it?'

As I've brought up my family on my own for many years the answer to the question is me! ... but then it always was ... I remember once asking my ex-husband to pay the telephone bill in the bank for me, I even wrote out the cheque for him ... we got cut off a few weeks later!

I sort out all the money issues, insurance, bills etc always have done. It can be a bit "how about some help with this" at times but to be honest I'm probably too much of a control freak to let the other half sort anything out, besides he'd rather not have to bother with that sort of thing. But just to moan, what really gets my back up, I sorted out our last remortgage, sat through the 1 hour inquistion/form filling, just took forms home for him to sign and every letter etc from building soceity comes addressed to him! like I wasn't there. Really its just sexist, if remortgaging was now so easy I'd change to somewhere else just for the hell of it, moan over.
