Hello,

What sort of debts are acceptable to enter into an IVA? is it just loans/credit cards? can bills count such as council tax/domestic bills?

Do you have to be behind on payments to enter an IVA?

Can i pay off my parteners loan with an IVA?

Hi gareth and welcome to the forum

IVA's are for any UNSECURED credit you have personally eg credit cards, loas etc.
I would hang around for one of the experts to answer if council tax/ bills can be included as I am unsure.

You don't need to be behind on payments to enter an iva, most people are in fact up to date with things but robbing peter to pay paul.

I would think that all bills must be in your name and you can't include partner's loan if your name is not on the agreement, but again I would wait for an expert to clarify

It may also help the experts if you can give more detail, eg;

do you own a home?
what is the amount of debt you are in?
what is your monthly disposible income after paying utilities and living expenses but not including credit repayments?

and I am sure someone will be along to answer soon
