What things are considered to be luxury items

What other things other than those listed are considered to be luxury items these days?
A computer, jewellry, childrens' games consoles etc? When/why do bailiffs appear on people's doorsteps to take things away? I am panicking about this as I have two small children and don't want them to be scared or upset

Its rare that bailifs will come into your home.
By luxury items they mean things like big expensive tv's and antiques and such like.
Your childrens belongings would be safe.
If you could post a bit more about your situation, im sure one of the experts will be along to offer advice.

Hi lisa

If you are not subject to any form of insolvency proceedings which give you protection against creditor actions, the bailiffs can effectively take what they like, so long as they are not removing items necessary for essential living such as beds, cookers etc. Bailiffs will normally take away items that they think they can sell easily, such as TV, video and HiFi equipment.

Bailiffs can only take goods away if they have a court order,this may happen if you ignore all correspondence and end up with county court judgement.The creditor may enforce this judgement by using bailiffs
