So pleased to hear that news this morning from my team. Hopefully you can now put the IVA behind you, and concentrate on the important task of finding a new job. Best of luck with that.

Congratulations pennyless, your post certainly rings true with me and I am sure many others, I also wish I had gone ahead and 'done something' 4 years ago as the relief gained has been enormous. Good luck with the job hunt and your debt free future. X

Thanks everyone.

Yes Kelly, hopefully Nikki will see my post. She really has been supportive, particularly over the past few months, when I don't mind admitting having been in a whirlwind of panic over losing my job. She has remained calm all along and I must admit I may of been a pain to deal with over this time. But both Nikki & Melanie have been great in their understanding of my predicament and dealing with it to ensure a successful conclusion to my IVA.

Thanks again everyone.

Well done Pennyless.
Just read this post from start to finish and really pleased for you. I can relate to your position, not from being made redundant but from being ill for a year, the reduced wages and not knowing if I will be well enough to work.
Best of luck with finding new employment and to you and your family for the future.

Congratulations Pennyless mate [:)] Great news!
Out of curiosity, what sort of work are you looking for?
I was also made redundant a couple of years back, twice, so know what its like but managed to get back into work after 9 months.
You never know, I may be able to help point you in the right direction dependent on the line of work you're looking for and maybe others can too if we knew what you were looking for?
IVA completed!!! Looking forward to getting my life back! Stay positive and you'll get there in the end.

Yes Gareth its very difficult indeed when you no longer have a "salary" to rely on...for whatever reason and i think in the position you were in, especally hard as illness can be indefinate. I suppose thats when we discover how good, bad or indifferant our respective IP's are, thankfully mine was excellant.

Thanks Helpless121....I am an HGV driver in the North East. I have been receiving agency work but its not well paid and the amount of work I receve varies from week to week......so I can never look forward more than a week to what money, if any, I will have coming in.

In addition, with the current employment climate, Companies see agency workers as an easy option for relatively cheap labour, so are very reluctant to make workers permanent. This together with the fact that agencies know they have an abundance of employees (of all naionalities) at hand means they can be selective on who they put where and they also know that if you wont accept low rates then theres always someonewho will.....its a vicious circle and difficult to break out of.
