I left school with basic grades, I've only done average jobs. I spend most of my time being a mum and work part time as a dry cleaner which I quite enjoy. (& we get free dry cleaning[:)]) If I had time & money I would like to retrain in the future.

I do like doing courses and getting qualifications to better myself but are they any good if you dont also have the practicle ability to go with it. I have worked in the building industry for many years and have often know people with some of the best qualifications come to look at a problem on site and because its not exactly the same as in the book they really struggle and often need to get advice from the person actually doing the work in order to prepare a solution. I think it therefore can help if you have actually done a job before you move on to telling others how it should be done.

Mrs S...your expertise in being a patient Mum far outweighs any formal qualifications.

I sat my O levels at home, due to being pregnant at the time. I threw myself into course after course not only to be able to have a career but also to prove the village gossips wrong.[:D]

One of pet hates with reading is some of the stupid names given to characters....I have to mentally change the name...

Based on experience (being a mum) I could be a nurse(maid), cleaner, child minder, dog sitter, taxi driver, teacher, etc...

Don't think I would be of much use to anyone here as a betting shop manager[:D]
I like spreadsheets too, use them a lot to do shop staffing, profit reports, business plans etc.

Being a great mum is a good qualification Mrs S.

I left school with an O level in History and English Language, and CSE's in Typing, Bookkeeping, Commerce and Shorthand and I have an RSA in typing. That's the only one out of that lot which has been of any use to me!

I looked into the OU, and as usual money was the problem! I earn too much to get any help, and because of my BR I can't pay monthly. Maybe once my IPA is over and I've got some extra money I'll be able to do it - I quite fancy history as it was something I was good at at school.

I have loads of books on local history, love it. I like to know how our town was like years ago, how it has progressed etc. Just an interest of mine.

I love reading, especially Patricia Cornwall - that's what the programme Silent Witness is based on. Being a super mum is qualification enough Mrs S.
I have a shed load of letters after my name, but what does that stand for??!! [;)]
I'm still BR, so am not that smart as I couldn't manage my finances - hence not that smart!! [:)]
Keep smiling everyone.....[:D]
