I had missed payments and been threatened with debt collectors visiting. It never happened, but, as inaiva said, they cannot come into your house and you just tell them to contact you in writing you will not discuss it with them. If they refuse to go, you can use reasonable force to eject them from your property as they are then trespassers. Baliffs cannot enter by force on the first visit. If you have left a back door open, or a window, they can legally enter through those.

Trust me though, it won't come anywhere near that. I lost count of the number of times I was threatened with doorstep collectors.

Woohoo, spooky! I thought that when I was reading your posts too. Thats lovely, thank you, I don't think you would have seen my very first post, but in it I said that I couldn't even tell my Best Friend my worries as I felt so ashamed and she has been my best mate for the last 14 yrs. I know she wouldn't judge me, but I still can't tell her, so it is so great to find someone who you can talk to freely without the worry of being judged and also someone who is in the same boat as you as well. As we are both at the beginning (or look at is as being at the end) of our journey (the beginning being the awful mess), it is great to be able to go through this together. You have made my day, thank you so much. Kazzy x
